Party Host Wage & Tip Back Info

Q: What is my base pay/hourly rate on parties?

A: $12.50 per hour which is the wage for tipped service employees according to New York state.

 

Q: Is tipping back legal?

A: Yes. Please refer to the Department of Labors Hospitality Wage order for more information.

 

Q: Are the tips you receive being taxed?

A: Yes, cash and credit tips are both taxed as they appear on your paystub according to New York state and federal law. 

 

Q: Who receives the tipback?

A: The cash and credit card tipback is split amongst the employees that are involved in the inquiry, booking and confirmation to assist in party operations.

 

Q: Do Bounce owners/“the house” receive tip back?

A: No.

 

Q: How much am I making after tipping back?

A: Attached is a chart with what you would be making after tipping back (not including taxes). If your hourly wage rate is below minimum wage ($15) including your tips, you will be compensated with additional pay to make your hourly wage rate up to $15/hour.
